Eighty-year-old Marie is fed up with her illness. She has a plan: to go to Switzerland and end her life. But when she is supposed to tell Bruno, her irresponsible son, and Anna, her rebellious teenage granddaughter, she panics and invents a huge lie. Pretending to have a mysterious inheritance to collect from a Swiss bank, she suggests they all take a trip together. Rudy, a caregiver she just met the day before, becomes an unwitting accomplice in this charade. He takes the wheel of the family's old camper van and drives the family on an unexpected journey.
