Stéphane Aucante

Stéphane began his career in French cultural diplomacy and in teaching French as a foreign language (FLE) when he became director of an French Institute in West Bank ; he then went on to head the French Alliance of Tetovo, North Macedonia. In both roles, he shared his love of the French language with learners of all ages —something he will continue to do at the French Alliance of Jersey.

Before that, he managed cultural venues in France, first in the audiovisual sector and later in the performing arts. For example, he served as director of the Théâtre du Cloître of Bellac, in Haut-Limousin — an area that is home to many British nationals.

Since working mainly abroad, he has also become a writer. He is currently completing the third and final volume of a novelistic trilogy inspired by the history of his mother’s family.

In his personal life, Stéphane is fond of going in cinemas, reading crime fictions, and tasting fine wines.
