JOIN THE LAUNCH OF THE ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE DE JERSEY 26/27 CINE-CLUB!
Special evening on Friday, Sept. 4th from 6 p.m. at the Jersey Museum auditorium in St Helier
Why "special"?
Because the screening will only start around 6:30 p.m. Before that, we will have celebrated our post-summer reunion over a complimentary drink and a few snacks.
Because exceptionally, the evening will be entirely free of charge.
And above all because a special evening calls for a special programme! Indeed, it is not just one film that will be screened, but three recordings of three fabulous short ballets offered to you by the Paris Opera as part of its "Opera d’été 2026" event.
And here… Why exceptional? Judge by yourself:
Three contemporary creators are brought together for this programme, drawing the Paris Opera dancers into a new form of modernity where bodies vibrate with intensity. To open, let's find the already classic George Balanchine for his fast-paced "Who cares?" set to music by George Gershwin (including the standard "I got rhythm"). Then will come the immense Maurice Béjart and his absolute masterpiece, "Boléro", set to Ravel's world-famous music, here in its female version performed by Prima Ballerina Amandine Albisson. Finally, to close this breathtaking evening, Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite will present The Seasons’ Canon, a dazzling and hypnotic creation set to contemporary variations by composer Max Richter on Vivaldi’s famous "Seasons"…
The France of the Paris Opera, the New York of Gershwin, the Switzerland of Béjart, Canada, Italy… What a wonderful late summer journey, don't you think?...
