LOOK AT UKRAINE

A Fragmented Story of Ukraine’s Independence

A photography exhibition by Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Glyadyelov

Drawn from a retrospective presented in Kyiv in September 2025, this exhibition offers a powerful and moving journey through Ukraine’s history — from its independence in 1991 to the ongoing war.

Through intimate and striking images, the exhibition captures a nation shaped by repeated struggles and collective resilience. It brings into focus the lives of women, men, and families confronted with the challenge of defending their land, their language, and their culture.

In the face of war, the Ukrainian people emerge as resilient, united, and profoundly human.

This exhibition has been made possible with the support of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Institut Français. Its presentation in Jersey is supported by La Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche and the Department of Manche.
